Please join us for a special poetry reading and discussion to celebrate National Poetry Month! Bill Alberti, a local poet and former newspaper columnist, will read original poetry and speak about what inspires a poem. This is a great program for poetry fans or those who are interested in writing poetry! Bill will conduct a discussion addressing the questions:

  • What is poetry?
  • What inspires a poem?
  • What is the poetic process?
  • How does poetry enrich our lives?

Bill Alberti, a Brooklyn-born poet-artist and musician earned his B.A. from Stonehill College, his Master of Creative Arts from Bridgewater State University, and an honorary degree from Nanjing University, China. He completed post-graduate studies at the University of Ireland, Galway campus. Bill, who worked with Robert Pinsky, a former National Poet Laureate of the U.S., has five published chapbooks of poetry, and many of his poems have appeared in various newspapers and journals. He was the author of the newspaper column, The Poet’s Pen. Bill’s poems cover a variety of topics and are noted for their ease of accessibility, and often, their sense of humor.
