Artist Biography:

In the 1980s I attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA as a visual arts major. After graduation work and raising a family took precedent. Now, as an artist in my 6th decade of life, a South Shore native and nature enthusiast I'm finding renewed interest in putting my interpretation of the outdoors onto canvas.

One of my favorite places is my own backyard where I'm inspired by the light, color and texture of 30 years of landscaping. Coastal Maine also holds a special place in my heart.

Working from a photo and my memory of a place I create an oil painting that will, hopefully, inspire, relax and create a sense of well being.

Remembering Quiet Places Exhibit:

When I'm inspired by my surroundings through the play of light and shadow, texture or shade of color I get a surge of energy that usually ends up as paint on a canvas.

I start with a photograph, remember the feeling I had when it was taken and, many times, the painting seems to emerge on its own.

Float into a calm and quiet place while viewing these paintings. You can almost smell the colors.
